On average, there are 218 sunny days per year in the Delta.  Counting daytime highs and nightime lows, our average winter temperature is a very mild 48 degrees while our average summer temperature is 80 degrees.  We have an average of less than 1" of snow per year.  Our "Comfort Index" as determined by Sperling's Best Places is 11% higher than the national average. Food

SEC Sports

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is widely known as the best college sports conference in the USA.  Our proximity to Ole Miss and Mississippi State provides us access to the best that college sports has to offer.  

University of Mississippi

The state's flagship university - the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) - lies just 10 miles directly to the east of the Delta Strong region.  In recent years Ole Miss has won the Sugar Bowl, the SEC Basketball Tournament, and made the College Baseball World Series.

Mississippi State University

One hour directly east of the Delta Strong region is the State's land grant institution, Mississippi State University. Mississippi State is the only university in the country to have made a New Year's 6 Bowl (Orange Bowl in 2014), College World Series Championship Series (2013), and Women's Basketball National Championship Game (2017) in the last 4 years.

Tunica National Golf & Tennis
